VPR Ordinance Enacted in Hanover Park

The Village of Hanover Park, Ill., effective November 12, has enacted vacant property registration requirements. The ordinance requires registration within 10 days of default inspection regardless of occupancy status.

VPR Ordinance Enacted in Rockdale County

Rockdale County, Ga., enacted vacant property registration requirements on November 13. The ordinance requires registration once a property has become "vacant real property" as defined by the county (not lawfully inhabited for 60 days; no evidence of utility usage within the past 60 days).

VPR Ordinance Enacted in Spencer

The Town of Spencer, Mass., enacted vacant property registration requirements on November 27. The ordinance requires registration within 30 days of vacancy.

VPR Amendments Proposed in Port St. Lucie

The City of Port St. Lucie, Fla., has proposed amendments to the registration of real properties. Among them is a change that calls for the annual registration fee to correspond to the fiscal year of the City and the renewal of the registration, along with the payment of the annual fee, to be completed prior to October 1 of any year.
