West Palm Beach, FL

The City of West Palm Beach, Fla., has amended its property registration program to no longer require default registration pre-filing. The associated due date will now be 30 days from the filing of a notice of default.

It is important to note that a local contact within 20 miles of the jurisdiction also is required, with a mandate that the contact be empowered to accept legal service of process.

Additionally, the program will now be enforced through a third-party service (Pro-Champs).

Clarksville, IN

The Town of Clarksville, Ind., has transferred its vacant and foreclosure property registration process to an online portal. A login ID will be required to utilize the service.

Kent, NY

The Town of Kent, N.Y., is now enforcing its property registration program through a third-party service (ProChamps). Registration is required within 30 days of any foreclosure action. Renewals will occur on a semi-annual basis and will include a fee of $500.
