Reynoldsburg, OH

The City of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, has enacted a property registration ordinance requiring the inspection and registration of vacant commercial buildings and homes. According to the ordinance, structures will be deemed vacant after being unoccupied for more than 60 days. An initial registration fee of $200 (per property) will be enforced, with an increase of $200 each additional year ($1,000 maximum).

Niles, IL

The Village of Niles, Ill., is now enforcing its property registration program through a third-party service (Pro-Champs). Registration is required within 10 days of foreclosure filing and renewals will take place on a semi-annual basis. A $300 registration fee will be included.

Millville, NJ

The City of Millville, N.J., has amended its property registration ordinance to now focus on vacant and foreclosure properties (previously included foreclosure and REO/post-sale properties). Registration will be required within 10 days of foreclosure filing/vacancy and a $400 annual fee will replace a previous escalating fee schedule.
