Woodcliff Lake, NJ

The borough of Woodcliff Lake, N.J., has enacted property registration requirements within 30 days of vacancy. The program will enforce an annual registration that will reflect the following annual fee structure:
Initial Registration: $500.00
1st Renewal: $1500.00
2nd Renewal: $3000.00
3rd and Subsequent Renewals: $5000.00

Chapter 233 Properties, Abandoned

Sec. 233-2 -- Registration requirements.

The owner of any vacant property as defined herein shall, within 30 calendar days after the building becomes vacant property or within 30 calendar days after assuming ownership of the vacant property, whichever is later; or within 10 calendar days of receipt of notice by the municipality, file a registration statement for such vacant property with the Property Maintenance Inspector on forms provided by the Borough for such purposes. Failure to receive notice by the municipality shall not constitute rounds for failing to register the property.

C. The registration shall remain valid for one year from the date of registration except for the initial registration which shall be prorated through December 31. The owner shall be required to renew the registration annually as long as the building remains a vacant and/or abandoned property and shall pay a registration or renewal fee for each vacant property registered.

Sec. 233-5 -- Fee schedule.

The initial registration fee for each building shall be $500. The fee for the first renewal is $1,500, and the fee for the second renewal is $3,000. The fee for any subsequent renewal beyond the second renewal is $5,000.

Lindenhurst, NY

The village of Lindenhurst, N.Y., has enacted property registration requirements within 10 days of foreclosure filing or within 30 days of vacancy. The program will be enforced by a third-party service provider (ProChamps) and will include a $500 semi-annual registration fee.

CHAPTER 142 PROPERTY, REGISTRATION OF DEFAULTED MORTGAGE

Sec. 142-2. Definitions.

Registrable Property shall mean:
(b) Any property that is vacant for more than thirty (30) days or any cancellation of Utility or Service, whichever occurs first.


Semi-Annual Registration shall mean six (6) months from the date of the first action that requires registration, as determined by the VILLAGE OF LINDENHURST, or its designee, and every subsequent six (6) months.

Sec. 142-5. INSPECTION AND REGISTRATION OF REAL PROPERTY UNDER FORECLOSURE

(c) Within then (10) days of the date any Mortgagee files a Foreclosure Action, the Mortgagee shall register the Real Property with the VILLAGE ON LINDENHURST Registry, and, at the time of registration, indicate whether the property is Vacant, and if so shall designate in writing a Property Manager to inspect, maintain, and secure the Real Property subject to the mortgage under a Foreclosure Action.


(e) At the time of initial registration each registrant shall pay a non-refundable Semi-Annual Registration fee of $500 for each property. Subsequent non-refundable Semi-Annual renewal registrations of properties and fees in the amount of $500 are due within ten (10) days of the expiration of the previous registration.

Lower Makefield, PA

The township of Lower Makefield, Pa., has enacted property registration requirements within 10 days of default or within 10 days of vacancy. The program will enforce an annual registration fee of $100.

Article II Registration of Vacant Properties

Sec. 152-13 Registration for abandoned real property.

A. Any mortgagee who hold a mortgage on real proeprty located within the Township of Lower Makefield shall perform an inspection of the property determine vacancy or occupancy, upon default by the mortgagor. The mortgagee shall, within 10 days of the inspection, regist the property with the Township, or its designee(s), on forms or website access provided by the Township, and indicate whether the property is vacant or occupied.
B. (2) The property is found to be vacant of whos evidence of vacancy, at which time it is deemed abandoned, and the mortgagee shall, within 10 days of that inspection, update the property registration to a vacancy status on forms provided by the Township.

Sec. 152-15 Registration fees.

A nonrefundable fee in accordance with the Housing Inspection Fee Schedule Resolution shall be paid for any building registered within 45 days of first becoming vacant and shall be renewed on an annual basis with a fee in accordance with the Housing Inspection Fee Schedule Resolution.
