Montgomery, AL

The City of Montgomery, Ala., has agreed to reconsider a vacant property ordinance proposal previously rejected in March. A review of the ordinance and suggested amendments has been scheduled for May 21, 2019.

Watertown, NY

The City of Watertown, N.Y., has proposed property registration requirements for residential/commercial buildings within 30 days of becoming vacant. The ordinance aims to include a $50 registration fee and $650 annual inspection fee if the structure is vacant for more than 90 days.

Parkesburg, PA

The Borough of Parkesburg, Penn., has clarified that its current property registration program requires registration upon vacancy only. The ordinance includes language pertaining to foreclosure, but does not enforce it as a registration requirement.
