VPR Ordinance Enacted in Justice Village

Justice Village, Ill., effective October 1, has enacted defaulted and vacant property registration requirements. The ordinance requires registration within 10 days of foreclosure filing and every six months thereafter, regardless of occupancy status.

VPR Ordinance Recommended for Rockford

The City of Rockford, Ill., heard budget recommendations from the National Resource Network (NRN) on October 8. Among the recommendations is the creation of vacant property registry that would charge a $250 registration fee. It is important to note that at this time, no ordinance has been officially proposed.

VPR Amendments Passed in Utica Village

Utica Village, Ill., effective January 1, 2019, has approved a vacant and abandoned property registration amendment that will require owners to pay a $100 registration fee plus $100 for every month not in compliance.

West Chicago, Ill., effective October 1, has enacted defaulted and vacant property registration requirements. The ordinance requires registration within 10 days of default inspection and every six months thereafter, regardless of occupancy status.

RPR Ordinance Amendments Passed in Bradford

Bradford City, Penn., passed amendments for its rental property registration ordinance on October 23. Among the amendments is an increased annual registration fee from $35 to $45 per unit for properties with up to four units and $25 to $35 per unit for properties with more than four units.
