VPR Ordinance Enacted in Bridgeville

The Town of Bridgeville, Del., has enacted vacant property registration requirements. The ordinance requires registration for any building that has remained vacant for 60 consecutive days or more.

VPR Ordinance Enacted in Homewood

The Village of Homewood, Ill., enacted vacant property registration requirements on November 13. The ordinance requires lenders and owners to register their property within 10 days of mortgage default or vacancy and contact information must be provided.

VPR Ordinance Enacted in LeRoy Village

The Village of LeRoy, N.Y., has enacted vacant property registration requirements. The ordinance requires registration no later than 30 days after any building becomes a "vacant building" (as defined by the Village), or no later than 30 days after being notified by a Code Enforcement Officer of the requirement to register.

The ordinance requires registration no later than 30 days after any building becomes a "vacant building" (as defined by the Town), or no later than 30 days after being notified by a Code Enforcement Officer of the requirement to register.

VPR Ordinance Enacted in South Charleston

The City of South Charleston, W.Va., has enacted vacant property registration requirements. The ordinance requires registration within ten calendar days of the property meeting the definition of a vacant building and every year thereafter by such date while the building remains unoccupied.

VPR Amendments Approved in Wilkes-Barre

The City of Wilkes-Barre, Penn., effective November 30, has passed amendments to its vacant property registration ordinance requiring semi-annual registration every six months and a raise to the annual fee from $200 to $300.

VPR Program Discussed in Ford City

The Borough of Ford City, Penn., held a preliminary discussion for the creation of a vacant property registration program on November 24. It is important to note that at this time, no ordinance has been officially proposed.
