Jackson Township, N.J., has amended its property registration ordinance to include an increased annual fee of $500 (previously $250).
Brookhaven, NY
The Town of Brookhaven, N.Y., is now enforcing its property registration program through a third-party service (ProChamps). Registration is required within 10 days of foreclosure filing (regardless of occupancy) and renewals will take place on a semi-annual basis ($175 fee). It is important to note that the vacant property registry will remain in-house under municipal management.
Colonie, NY
The Town of Colonie, N.Y., has amended its vacant property registration program to reflect the following escalating fee structure:
- 1st Year of Vacancy: $400
- 1-2 Years: $700
- 2-3 Years: $1,350
- 3-4 Years: $2,250
- 4-5 Years: $3,350
- 5-10 Years: $3,950
